Where does Oak & Yew work?
The established service area is Sutton, Carshalton and South London. Share your postcode to check whether your property is within the current coverage area.
Are quotations free?
Oak & Yew advertises free, no-obligation quotations. Explain the tree work you are considering and the site access so the team can discuss a useful scope.
Can I send photographs?
Yes. Send clear photographs taken from a safe position on WhatsApp or attach them when you send your prepared email enquiry. A site assessment may still be needed.
What access details help?
Mention narrow gates or passages, steps, shared access, parking restrictions and anything close to the tree, such as buildings or overhead lines.
Working arrangements
What happens to waste, logs and stump grindings?
Confirm what is included in your individual quotation. Removal, leaving logs and dealing with stump grindings should each be agreed before the work.
How soon can work be booked?
Availability varies with the work, weather and existing bookings. Contact the team for current timing; no fixed response or completion time is promised.
Do you take urgent enquiries?
Yes. For storm damage or a hazardous tree, call 07821 753883 to explain the situation and check current availability. Keep away from unstable trees and branches.
Qualifications, cover & protected trees
Are the team qualified?
The Oak & Yew website lists City & Guilds NPTC qualifications. Ask the team for current evidence relevant to the proposed work if you need it.
Are you insured?
Oak & Yew holds public liability insurance cover up to £5 million. Ask for a current certificate and confirm the scope of cover before booking if this is important for your property or procurement process.
Could my tree be protected?
In England, a Tree Preservation Order or conservation-area restriction can affect proposed work. Check with the local planning authority before work begins. Read the tree protection guide
Will you handle an application to the council?
Discuss who will make any application or notification and whether a fee applies. The current arrangements have not been confirmed, so this should be agreed before booking.
