WHO WE ARE
Good tree surgery starts with understanding the tree.
It takes experience, careful planning and an appreciation of how trees grow and interact with the property around them.
Led by Spencer Nichols, Oak & Yew brings more than ten years of practical experience and City & Guilds NPTC qualifications to tree work across Sutton and South London.
We discuss the work, agree the scope and pay attention to your property and the final clear-up.
More About Our TeamHOW WE WORK
We start with what you want to achieve, then discuss a practical approach. Removing a tree is one option; suitable maintenance may be another.
City & Guilds NPTC qualifications support our practical work. Our published terms describe work in line with BS 3998 recommendations for tree work.
Access, surrounding property and the final clear-up all matter. We agree the scope so you know what work and waste arrangements to expect.

PROTECTED TREES
We can help you check restrictions, understand the process and prepare the right application or notification for your local council.
Tree protection adviceWork to a tree protected by a Tree Preservation Order generally needs council consent unless a legal exemption applies. Qualifying work in a Conservation Area generally needs six weeks’ prior written notice, unless an exemption applies. The council makes the legal decision.
We can help identify the relevant requirements and prepare the appropriate TPO application or Conservation Area notification. We cannot guarantee an application will be approved.
